Another "Homework Pass" Opportunity!

Hello bloggers,

Thanks for visiting today! Wow, we have learned so many new concepts in Science. I have a great opportunity for you to show off your smarts down below. It will earn you your choice of a trip to the prize box or a Free Homework Pass! Remember, my expectations are very high when it comes to extra credit. The work must be done as directed and all work must be neat and carefully done.

Dinner Conversation Starters...
*Ask your child to explain to you the "dot method" for determining whether a number is odd or even
*Ask your child to tell you all about arrow math and what the various arrows are translated to
*Can your child explain what two processes are opposites when it comes to changing matter? (evaporation and condensation...Evaporation changes water to water vapor (liquid to gas) and Condensation changes water vapor to water (gas to liquid)
*Ask your child to tell you what transition words are and when they should be used

Extra Credit Project: Due no later than Monday, Sept. 15
Okay, scientists...get ready to show me your stuff! For extra credit homework this week, I want you to create a poster showing the process of how an icicle changes from its solid form into a gas. Now, remember, it has to change to a liquid first. Hint: Your poster should have three separate pictures included if you have remembered all the processes involved in this change. You may either draw pictures or pull pictures off of the internet. Your "changes" should be labeled using the correct vocabulary that we have learned in science class. The following words MUST be incorporated into your project:
solid, liquid, gas, ice, water, water vapor, condensation, evaporation
These words should be UNDERLINED. Remember to use complete sentences when writing!

Good Luck!
