We have had so much going on this week, I am doing a shortened version of our blog this week. Please make sure you mark your calendars and carefully read the news so you are well informed! I did want to pass along our spelling words for next week. Our focus has changed from spelling patterns to commonly misspelled words for the rest of the school year. I expect to see these words spelled correctly in your child's writing once they have been introduced as a spelling word. Here our list for the week of May 7th...

Class News and Announcements...
My home phone calls have been taking much longer than I expected! Thank you for your patience and I promise I will talk to every family in the next week or so.
I am so proud of our class...We collected over $1800 during our Boosterthon fund raiser! Please make sure to collect and send in all pledges by next Thursday! The kids have earned movie night at my house as long as all the pledges come in. This will mean that we get $180 for our classroom book fund! YEAH! I'm already signed up to go to a special Scholastic book sale next week!
Monday is our field day. We will be spending all day outside playing fun games, so please send your child to school in appropriate shoes, sunscreen and with plenty of water in their water bottle. Please also send in a complete change of clothes in a grocery bag. The kids WILL get wet and I will have all the children change and put their wet clothes in the bag to come home. Don't forget to also send in a BEACH TOWEL!
Thank you to Mrs. Newberry, Mrs. Merchant, Mrs. Vansant, Mrs. Abrams, Mrs. Samiec, Mrs. Farley, Mrs. Byrd, Mrs. English and Mrs. Conner for accompanying us to the Atlanta Zoo! We had so much fun!
The SPRING FLING is tonight from 6:00-9:00, weather permitting! Hope to see you there!
Moms, I will see all of you next Friday, May 11th at 8:15. You may come directly to our room and we will escort you to your seats. Please wait for us right outside our door! We can't wait to surprize you!
