Hi Parents and Students,
I'm glad you took time to visit the blog today! I have just a few announcements...some for parents and some for students. Students, if you have not yet voted on what you think our new classroom pet is, please do so. I told Mrs. Scurry about our new critters and she said, "Oh, Lordy!" I told Mrs. Scurry she would grow to love our furry friends. Also, if you haven't written me your summer letter, please do so this week. I have been enjoying hearing about your adventures since the end of school. Parents, Kroger is having a two for one sale on composition books. You can get both for $1. I haven't seen the expo markers on sale yet. And don't forget the regular sized pencil box. I also have to give a HUGE THANK YOU to Mrs. Meireles! She came up to Kemp one day to help me paint and ended up staying for 5 days, organizing my cabinets and helping me make sure our new classroom is just perfect for us! Make sure you tell Mrs. Meireles what a great job she did the next time you see her, or pick her a pretty sunflower...those are her favorite!
Movie Night is officially here! We will be getting together so I can finally make good on my promise. Students can be dropped off at 6pm on Sunday, August 5. Due to space constraints in our movie room, only students will be allowed to stay (sorry, no siblings or parents) Please plan to pick up your child at 8pm. I will also need an email confirmation if your child plans to attend. Upon drop-off, I will just need your emergency contact info for those few hours. I hope everyone can make it! We'll have popcorn and drinks.
A few other important dates to remember are Thursday, August 9 at 10 am for Sneak-A-Peek and Tuesday, August 14 for Open House at 6:30 pm in our classroom. You won't want to miss this very important Open House where I will be discussing all the changes that will take place this year! Mark your calendars now!
