Dear Parents and Students,
Thank you for visiting the blog today! At the bottom of this post today, you will find an opportunity to earn a free homework pass to be used on any one homework assignment. When completing extra credit work, I expect nothing less than EXTRA effort, neat handwriting, and top quality work for the homework pass to be earned! Parents, below you will find some buzz phrases to get your child talking about our busy week learning...
Conversation Starters...
*ask your child to tell you everything they can about the character, Paul, from our chapter book (hint: he had a problem with pigtails!)
*ask your child to explain why Mrs. Wadsworth could not blow up the balloon that was inside the water bottle during our science experiment (it involves answering the scientific question, "Does air take up space?")
*ask your child to explain to you what one "down arrow" would mean in arrow math on the hundred board (hint: your child should tell you that this means you are to "add 10" to the original number)
Extra Credit Homework (due no later than 9/5/08):
Take a large posterboard and divide it into three sections. Label each section with a different state of matter. Find and glue, or draw a household item that fits into each category. Now, write three properties for each item (written in complete sentences!) that describe your items. All together, you should have 9 property sentences written. Be prepared to share your work in class. Practice your presentation at home! Good Luck and remember to do your personal best!
-Mrs. Wadsworth
