Mid-Week Update...

I really enjoyed Open House and I hope you found the information helpful. It was great seeing everyone. Keep in mind that I am available any time throughout the year to meet with you, and there doesn't have to be a problem to sit down and talk!

I know sometimes it can be like pulling teeth to get your child to tell you about their day at school. Check out the "Conversation Starters" below to find out what we've been doing in class this week. I've also updated the "Mark Your Calendars..." section, so be sure to add the events to your calendars.

Be on the lookout Monday for SuperStar Math facts practice to come home (no need to return, just practice nightly!) as well as the first Sitton Spelling words. The children will be writing the 5 new core words in their agendas in the right-hand column.

Call or email if you have questions!

Conversation Starters...
*Ask your child which "Rule To Live By..." is their favorite and why. Ask him/her to teach you the hand motion and what it means.
*Ask your child to tell you what the three states of matter are (solid, liquid and gas). Can he/she tell a characteristic of each? We've been discussing in detail that a solid holds its shape with no container, a liquid takes on the shape of the container it is in, and a gas completely fills its container.
*Ask your child to explain how the numbers 37 and 73 are different. (This explanation should involve discussing the value of the digits.)
