The Final Edition...

Hi Parents and Students!

This is my final edition of our Super Second Grade Blog! Please take a minute to carefully read the blog and the News below. There is lots of good information here today! The end of this year is bittersweet for sure. I am so proud of the progress the children have made this year, both academically and otherwise! Please keep in touch with me. I love to hear how "my children" are doing. I will have the same email address. I have not yet gotten word on where or what grade I will be teaching next year. I think someone's trying to tell me I need to work on my patience!

Third grade summer bridge activities begin at my house next week. I will resend the calendar to the parents who responded to the sign-up letter (which was nine children...AWESOME!) and I can add you to our email list if you did not sign up but are interested. Just let me know by tomorrow via email. We are going to accomplish great things this summer. If transportation is an issue, let me know. I'm sure we can work something out.

News and Notes...

Congratulations goes to Samantha Kenny for earning the Presidential Physical Fitness Award! She was one of two second graders who accomplished this recognition. Way to go!

Congratulations also goes to Molly McKinnon, Kaitlyn Ketch, and Madeline Conrad for earning the National Physical Fitness Award! Way to go girls!

I want to give a big thank you to a couple of moms who really dedicated their time and energy to our class. Jill Thompson and Lisa Brooks came in every week to read with the children and help them take AR tests. The kids truly loved this time!

I also want to thank Lisa Brooks for being our fearless room mom! She did an excellent job organizing all of our special events, even with my many last minute requests...and she always had a smile! Thank you, Lisa!

Now, on to the housekeeping notes...If you have not done so, please send in a self addressed stamped envelope for you child's CRCT results. These will come separate from your child's report card.

Please do not send bookbags to school tomorrow. Everything will be coming home today and bookbags are not allowed on the buses.

Don't forget, today and tomorrow are early release days. We will be dismissing at 1:30 on both days.
