November 5th Update...

Dear Parents and Students,

We have had a fabulous week. I really enjoyed listening to all the informational papers on the election and the candidates! I am so impressed with the motivation that the children have shown this year. Keep encouraging your child to do the extra credit!

Here are some conversation starters for you...
*Ask your child to tell you the steps for solving double-digit subtraction problems (if it doesn't involve a little rap song and knocking, he/she is forgetting something!)
*Ask your child to summarize Martine's visit to the botanical gardens from our book, The White Giraffe. What gift does Martine have?
*Ask your child to tell you about the first settlers who came to Georgia. What ocean did they sail across? What country did they sail from? Where was the first settlement in Georgia? (answers: Atlantic. England. Savannah.)

Extra Credit: Due by Wednesday, November 12th. Make sure your child shows all work and answers the word problem in sentence form!
Snacko wants to buy chocolate covered cheese balls from the vending machine. They cost 30 cents. He has only nickels and dimes. How many different ways can he pay for his cheese balls? Draw the pictures of the different ways.
