Hi Parents and Students,
Thank you for visiting our site today. I hope you had a restful Thanksgiving break. Sometimes it is hard to stay focused on school during this time before the holidays, but you know our slogan here at Ford; We don't have a minute to waste! Here are some conversation starters for around the dinner table...
*Ask your child to tell what character trait best describedTomochichi (it should be "honesty" or "peaceful") Can your child tell you what Tomochichi did to earn this good name?
*Ask your child to tell you what the difference between a plane shape and a three-dimensional shape is. Can he/she define the following terms...quadrilateral, parallelogram, pentagon, hexagon, right angle, obtuse angle, acute angle, vertex?
*Have your child tell you why the character, Martine, was not taken to the game reserve by her parents. Also, can he/she tell you what happened to Jemmy, the white giraffe? How does your child think the story will end?
Extra Credit Project (due Wednesday, Dec. 10th):
We have been studying historical figures and their contributions to Georgia's beginnings. Find a historical figure besides the three people we have studied (Oglethorpe, Tomochichi, Musgrove). Tell me why they are important to Georgia. You must include a topic sentence, at least three details about the person, and a closing sentence. Be prepared to share your paper with the class. Your hard work will earn a homework pass good for two days of NO homework! Good luck!
